Extreme Bridesmaid Makeover

Having the perfect wedding is something most girls dream of from a very early age. And who better to be by your side on this magical occasion than your best girl-friends? Not only do you want to look and feel your best on this special day, you also want them to look good - after all, those wedding pictures will have a prized position in your home for years to come.

It used to be popular for brides-to-be and their bridesmaid to get manicures, haircuts and other similar beauty treatments together before the wedding. This is all changing with the advent of cheaper and more accepted physical improvement, and more specifically a new trend in wedding preparation - cosmetic surgery for bridesmaids.

As the average age of a first time marriage increases, some women feel that more is needed than a quick make-over for their bridesmaids to look their best.

Spas in L.A. especially have noticed a growing trend in collective surgery for brides and their bridesmaids. It has been estimated by Susie Ellis, the president of SpaFinder.com, that bridal party tune-ups have increased roughly 25% in the last two years. Dr. Fardad Forouzanpour, a cosmetic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California, says that since he began offering Bridal Beauty Buffets in 2006 his business has increased by more than 40%.

If a friend asks you to do the honors, it’s a good idea to ask what kind of makeover might be involved to participate. Don’t be surprised if she asks for a little more than a haircut and color.
