Cheap DIY Wall Art
Hey, SuzyRenovator did it again! She totally caught my attention with her tips for diy wall art. I’ve officially bookmarked her site so I can keep up to date with all new posts. In her most recent post, Suzy offers instructions on how to make wall art with fabric and stretcher frames. I love contemporary style and somehow stretcher frames seem to have a more contemporary feel to them than framed art.
I just so happen to be one of those fabric collectors she speaks of. I may not be a great sewer, but I can certainly appreciate a beautiful piece of fabric when I see one. (Is it possible that I’ve appreciated a few too many beautiful fabrics - nah!)) Good thing these are no-sew projects. Since reading her post on cheap, chic wall art, I’ve started picking through my fabric stash to see what I might like to frame up. Maybe a stripe like Suzy used or a paisley print - anything to brighten up these last dark weeks of winter. Obviously, I’ve decided to try my hand at wrapping a stretcher frame. She made it look so easy, I have to try it. And just think, with the money I save by making my own art, I can definitely afford to buy the electric staple gun Suzy linked to. A girl can never have too many tools! Do you think I shop too much? I hope not, cause right now I have to go out to Michael’s and pick up some stretcher frames so I can have my way with some designer fabric!
