Bronzed Beauties
We are all becoming aware of how harmful UV rays can be to not only our complexion but also our health. Some experts recommend wearing sunscreen on your face everyday to help prevent wrinkles (90% of which are caused by UV rays). However, this doesn’t been you have to remain pasty white - for those of us who are naturally pale - the whole year round.
Summer more than any other time for the year is perfect for wearing little backless numbers, or at least clothing which bears more skin than usual. So if natural tanning isn’t an option, what does that leave us with? Luckily, there are a number of other more healthy choices. Spray-on tanner are available in most areas, although this can be costly and take up a lot of time. Your other main option is to use a self-tanner. I know everyone has heard horror stories about streaky self-tanning, or maybe you were the unlucky victim, but there are a number of products recommended by cosmologists to achieve a sunless tan.
The first and best bronzing powder on the market, created in 1984, is Guerlain of Paris’s Terracotta. It may be expensive, but worth it for the results. Another recommended product is Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel, which is easy to apply and doesn’t streak. As with the Terracotta it is a little on the pricey side, but lasts longer than other available bronzers. A third to consider is the Laura Mercier Bronzer. This not only gives you the look of a fresh tan, but also has a touch of rose which warms the skin and makes it shimmer.
Along with these well-known products there are many other bronzers or tinted moisturizers available at different stores, such as Bath & Body Works own gradual self-tanner. Many make-up lines also produce a facial bronzer, which is usually cheaper than those mentioned above.
So, look how many options you have for sunless self-tanning! The chance to show some bronzed skin during the summer has never been better!
